The Climate and Development Ministerial (C&DM) is taking place in Baku as part of the second day of the UN Preliminary Conference of Parties on Climate Change (Pre-COP29), Report informs.
The panel session aims to bring together ministers of ecology and environment from different countries to address priority issues of climate-vulnerable countries.
Through the C&DM, parties make decisions aimed at meeting the priority needs of least developed countries and small island states, ensuring that actions on their requests are taken as part of global discussions on climate finance.
Ministerial meetings have been held since COP26 in Glasgow in 2021.
On October 10, the Pre-COP29 conference began its work in Baku. The event, held at the Heydar Aliyev Center, is dedicated to the theme "Raising Ambitions and Ensuring Action." Panel discussions are focusing on ways to achieve a successful outcome for COP29. The conference will conclude its work on October 11.
