The COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company has announced the commencement of the COP29 Academy, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering environmental awareness and actively engaging youth in the fight against climate change.

According to Report, the primary objective of the Academy is to provide ecological education and ensure the active participation of young people in addressing climate change issues.

The establishment of the COP29 Academy also seeks to identify and support university graduates who demonstrate exceptional leadership, deep knowledge, and professional competence in climate and sustainability topics. By leveraging the potential of the country's brightest young minds, the initiative aims to raise societal awareness about the importance of sustainability.

The program offers participants mentorship opportunities, continuous professional development, and avenues for personal growth. It serves as a platform for participants to acquire knowledge in the field of sustainability and share their insights with peers, families, and the wider community.

The COP29 Academy will accept applications from graduates across all disciplines, the COP29 Presidency said.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend workshops led by relevant experts to develop skills such as project management and professional code of conduct.

The Academy participants will be employed by the Operating Company and contribute to the organization of the COP29 event as members of the workforce.

Azerbaijani citizens who graduated from accredited universities in 2023 and 2024, are not currently employed, socially active, and possess strong foreign language skills can apply by filling out the application form starting from June 22. Shortlisted candidates meeting the program requirements will be invited for an interview.
