Today’s conference that brought together the progressive young people from Türkiye, Iran, Russia, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Romania to share views on addressing the climate change is an event of great significance,” said Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Umayra Taghiyeva as she addressed the opening ceremony of the Baku Decides 1st Youth Climate Negotiations conference held today in the host city of COP29.
Taghiyeva noted that the ongoing large-scale events on addressing the climate change in Azerbaijan and the country’s plans to contribute to the global efforts stand high on the agenda.
“Today’s conference will focus on significant issues, exploring the solutions based on young people’s ideas,” the deputy minister added.
