Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for Türkiye’s steadfast support to Pakistan during the recent conflict with India, which he described as resulting in Pakistan's overwhelming victory.

During his official visit to Türkiye, following a high-level meeting with President Erdoğan, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed, in a post on his official X account, the heartfelt sentiments of the Pakistani people to their Turkish brothers and sisters.

“We also reviewed the ongoing progress of our multifaceted bilateral engagements, particularly in trade and investment, and reaffirmed our resolve to continue working closely to further strengthen these unshakable bonds of brotherhood and cooperation,” Prime Minister Sharif stated.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his own post on the X platform, said he was pleased to host Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation. He noted that their discussions focused on key areas including the economy, trade, and regional security.

Earlier, the two leaders held delegation-level talks in Istanbul, reaffirming their commitment to further deepening the multifaceted cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye. They also pledged to continue working together for regional peace, sustainable development, and the shared prosperity of their peoples.

Prime Minister Sharif expressed deep appreciation to the government and people of Türkiye for their unwavering support during the recent developments in South Asia, underscoring the strength of the fraternal bonds between the two nations. Both sides reiterated their principled support for each other’s core interests, including the Jammu and Kashmir issue.

The Prime Minister also paid tribute to the bravery and patriotism of the Pakistani armed forces and the people of Pakistan, whose commitment and sacrifice, he said, played a vital role in the country’s decisive victory in Marak-e-Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos in defense of the nation.

Prime Minister Sharif, who is on a two-day official visit to Türkiye, was warmly welcomed upon his arrival at Dolmabahce Palace, further reflecting the deep-rooted, historic, and brotherly ties between the two nations.
