Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari meets Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul. The meeting took place at the Ataturk Airport early Monday.

The meeting between the Presidents of Türkiye and Pakistan took place during a brief stopover by the Pakistani President at Istanbul Airport en route to Portugal.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan warmly received the President Asif Ali Zardari at the airport. During the meeting, the Pakistani President and his Turkish counterpart discussed the bilateral ties between the two countries and the matters of mutual interest.

The Pakistani President is visiting Portugal to express condolences on the passing of Prince Karim Aga Khan. Late Prince Karim al-Husseini Aga Khan IV was the 49th imam of Ismaili Muslims who died a few days back in Lisbon.

In Lisbon, President Asif Ali Zardari will also meet his Portuguese counterpart, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
