President Radev to confer with Hungarian PM Orban in Sofia

Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev will confer with Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Friday. Orban is visiting Bulgaria at the invitation of Radev, according to the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).

The pair is expected to discuss strengthening the friendly bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Hungary, key topics on the European Union agenda, and the security environment in the region.

Following the meeting, Radev and Orban will deliver joint statements to the media in the Coat of Arms Hall at the President’s administration building.

Last week, the Bulgarian head of State expressed his gratitude for Hungary's support for this country’s accession to the Schengen area during a meeting with Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjarto. Radev also congratulated Hungary on its successful presidency of the Council of the European Union.

In early November, Radev met Orban in Budapest, ahead of the fifth meeting of the European Political Community.
