In Pakistan, a powerful bomb blast claimed the lives of many schoolchildren near a Girls High School in Balochistan province’s Mastung district on Friday. According to local police, one police personnel also lost his life in the blast while over a dozen people were injured.
Pakistan’s Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Premier Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have strongly condemned terrorism act which claimed four lives including three children.
In their separate messages, the Acting President and Prime Minister expressed their grief over the death of children and a policeman. They also conveyed condolence to the bereaved families and prayed for strength for them to bear the loss.
The Acting Pakistani President and Prime Minister also reiterated the resolve for continuous action against terrorism in the country till its total elimination. Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said the terrorists are the enemies of humanity and the whole nation stands united to support the security forces and law enforcement agencies against terrorists.
The Pakistani Premier instructed the authorities concerned to apprehend the perpetrators of the blast in Balochistan and take them to task. He said that the attack on a school is the manifestation of terrorists’ animosity to education in Balochistan.
