The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov had a meeting with the Chairman Senate of Pakistan (the Upper House of the Parliament) Yousaf Raza Gilani in Capital Islamabad.
During the meeting, the Ambassador underscored the need for high level contacts and boosting cooperation in diverse sectors between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. He reiterated that Pakistan is an important country for Azerbaijan and we are keen to further expand ties in different sectors between the two countries.
Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Yousaf Raza Gilani on the occasion said that his country cherishes its fraternal relations with Azerbaijan which are deeply rooted by cultural and religious connections. He said that the bilateral trade between the two nations has been consistently increasing in recent years. He emphasized the potential for further enhancing trade linkages in various sectors between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
Chairman Senate said that Pakistan will participate in COP29 in Baku in November in a befitting manner. He expressed satisfaction over the highest level contacts between the two countries which are going in the right direction.
He urged the need to further explore avenues for bilateral cooperation through exchange of delegations and also emphasized for frequent bilateral exchanges at parliamentary levels to enhance people to people contacts.
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan during the meeting reiterated the importance of high-level contacts between the two countries and collaboration in different sectors while expressing Azerbaijan’s desire to further expand its ties with Pakistan.
