The Vovchansk city and villages of the Kharkiv region in Ukraine are not only a border area, but also important as a strategic point, and that is why there are fierce air battles for the city and surrounding villages, Report informs.
The head of Vovchansk city, Tamaz Gambarashvili, told Report that the situation in the community is extremely difficult today: "Because residents of Vovchansk suffer from shells and artillery strikes every day. The enemy actively uses guided aerial bombs that destroy all the infrastructure and personal property of residents. Along the border, all the settlements were destroyed. Prior to the war, the city’s population stood at 36,000; however, it has diminished to 10,000 inhabitants. They continue to live in the city."
