Nearly 1,000 may be trapped in park in Taiwan following earthquake

Nearly 1,000 people people may be trapped in the mountains in Taroko National Park in Taiwan as a result of the earthquake, Report informs via TASS.

According to him, there are 215 tourist groups with a total number of 680 people in the national park. At least two people were injured due to falling rocks from the mountains. One of them was hospitalized.

Over 300 people live in settlements located within the park. In addition, another 120 people are park employees.

Earthquakes of magnitude 7.5 and 6.6 were recorded off the eastern coast of Taiwan in the morning. The death toll was seven people, the number of injured has reached 736.
