Eleven Bulgarian producers are taking part in the international exhibition for food industry, agriculture and horticulture Green Week Berlin. Milk and meat products, spices, wine, organic products, honey, nut oil and Bulgarian rose oil products are displayed on 143 square metres. This is Bulgaria's 33rd participation, reported Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).

Agriculture and Food Minister Kiril Vatev Friday opened the Bulgarian stand. It was visited by Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture Cem Ozdemir, Berlin's Governing Mayor Kai Wegner, Messe Berlin CEO Mario Tobias, German Farmer's Association President Joachim Rukwied, Federation of German Food and Drink Industries Chairman Christian von Boetticher and other official guests.

The guests were welcomed with bread, salt and honey and received gift baskets of Bulgarian products.

On Thursday, Vatev attended the formal opening of the event.

He will attend a conference of the agriculture ministers organized on Saturday by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture as part of the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture.

This year the event focuses on sustainability, food security and the future of agribusiness. Between January 19 and 28, 1,400 exhibitors from 60 countries will inform visitors about modern agriculture and the food industry, culinary trends and sustainability. More than 300,000 visitors from over 60 countries are expected.

Earlier on Friday, protesters drove their farming vehicles to the congress and exhibition arena CityCube where the international trade fair is being held.
