An employee of Armenia’s Armavir penitentiary institution has been detained as part of a corruption case, Report informs referring to Sputnik Armenia.
Earlier, local media reported that the head of the penitentiary medical service, Gevorg Gezhoyan, had been detained. According to the publication, this caused discontent among the prisoners, and a riot broke out in the prison.
The press service of the penitentiary reported that there was no riot in the prison and the institution operates as usual.
