Rescue work in Gansu earthquake zone mostly completed

Search and rescue efforts in the earthquake zone in China’s Gansu province have been largely completed, with the total number of victims approaching a thousand people, Report informs via Xinhua.

The number of people injured in a magnitude 6.2 earthquake in northwestern China's Gansu province has risen to 782, with the death toll at 113. More than 150,000 buildings in Gansu province were damaged or destroyed.

The earthquake also killed 18 people in Qinghai province, local authorities said. 198 people were reported injured in Qinghai as a result of the disaster, with another 16 still missing.
