More than 3,000 people arrived in Georgia from Israel, which is in a state of war, Georgian Ambassador Lasha Zhvania said on air on the Rustavi 2 TV channel, XQ informs.

Both citizens of Georgia and citizens of Israel and holders of dual citizenship arrived on flights Tel Aviv - Batumi, Tel Aviv - Kutaisi and Tel Aviv - Tbilisi. There were not enough flights, so additional ones were scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. Tickets were sold out in 20 minutes.

“We are working with Georgian Airways to add more flights in the following days, perhaps on October 13-15. Such flights will be carried out as long as there is demand from those wishing to travel from Israel to Georgia. Naturally, the emphasis is on our citizens,” Zhvania said.

According to official data, 120,000 Georgian citizens live in Israel. The Georgian Embassy in Israel is operating in emergency mode. If necessary, the embassy is ready to provide Georgian citizens with various things and shelter.
