Russia may resume production of T-80 tanks

The Russian Uralvagonzavod may resume production of T-80 tanks at the request of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the general director of the plant, Alexander Potapov, told Zvezda TV, XQ informs.

According to him, the company’s management is now working on issues related to the production of the tanks.

“We are also working on these issues with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, because this requires, accordingly, new capacities,” Potapov explained.

The T-80 tank was produced in the USSR at the Omsk Transport Engineering Plant and entered service with the Soviet army in 1976.
