A delegation of Azerbaijan, led by Rector of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) Rufat Azizov visited the Middle East Technical University (METU/ODTÜ), one of Türkiye's prestigious higher education institutions.

During the visit, the ASOIU delegation met with METU Rector Professor Ahmet Yozgatlıgil. The discussions centered on expanding opportunities for joint scientific research, collaboration on grant projects, and the implementation of student and faculty exchange programs between the two universities.

The sides also exchanged views on integrating METU’s extensive experience in professional development programs and university-industry cooperation into the ASOIU curriculum. Both rectors evaluated future prospects for strategic collaboration in these key areas.

During the visit, Associate Professor Rufat Azizov and his delegation toured METU’s Central Research Laboratories, where they familiarized themselves with the institution’s advanced scientific infrastructure and discussed potential avenues for joint laboratory-based research.

This visit marks a significant step toward deepening scientific and academic ties between the two universities and establishes a foundational groundwork for the implementation of concrete collaborative projects in the near future.
