Murad Sharifov, a fourth-year student of the Process Automation Engineering Department of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) of SOCAR, is studying at the University of North Carolina.

He was awarded a scholarship of approximately $28,000. After studying 1 semester, Sharifov will return to his home country and continue his studies at BHOS.

In addition to improving his academic knowledge within the scholarship program, Murad prepared a presentation about Azerbaijan. He told foreign students and teachers about the history and culture of Azerbaijan.

Murad also won the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarship program and the Latvian State Scholarship Program.

As part of his participation in the German Language Course at Martin Luther University in Germany, he introduced foreign students and teachers to the rich culture of Azerbaijan, presenting the national cuisine and traditions of Azerbaijan.

Murad Sharifov participated in the Summer School of Riga Technical University and won the 4th ABB “Hackathon Startup Challenge”.
