A delegation led by Kamran Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General, visited Kenya at the invitation of Renson Ingonga, Director of Public Prosecutions of the country.
The delegation was first received by William Ruto, President of Kenya on June 8.
Kamran Aliyev extended greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to President William Ruto.
President William Ruto thanked for the greetings and asked Kamran Aliyev to pass on his regards to the Azerbaijani President.
The meeting hailed dynamically developing Azerbaijan-Kenya relations across various domains, including the cooperation between law enforcement authorities of the two countries.
Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev also met with Renson Ingonga, Director of Public Prosecutions of Kenya. The Azerbaijani Prosecutor General commended successfully developing bilateral relations based on the principles of friendship and mutual trust, thanks to the political will and efforts of both countries’ leaders.
Renson Ingonga hailed rapidly developing partnership between the two countries’ law enforcement authorities, also highlighting his three working visits to Azerbaijan last year.
Ingonga also congratulated Azerbaijan on the excellent organization of the 29th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP), as well as the plenary session on the Mobilization of law enforcement agencies in combating climate change on the margins of COP29. He also recalled his visit to Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district, the traces of Armenian vandalism, and the ongoing large-scale restoration efforts witnessed there.
The meeting saw discussions on enhancing legal cooperation, implementing the Memorandum of Understanding to enhance legal cooperation signed in 2024, implementing artificial intelligence, drafting agreement on combating crime, extradition and legal assistance, and organizing reciprocal visits.
Also present at the meetings was Sultan Hajiyev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kenya.
Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev then visited the Azerbaijani Embassy in the country, putting flowers at the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and meeting the embassy staff.
