The "We are together" team has brought New Year's joy to the most remote villages of Azerbaijan for the third time this year by implementing the "Santa in the villages" project. This year, they visited the villages of Jimjimakh, Sabunchu, Alasgar, Lekit-Kotuklu, Lekit, Gashgachay, Zarna, Armudlu, Ashaghi Malakh, Kurkun, Garay, Susay, and Uzunmeshe in the Zagatala, Gakh and Guba districts, presenting New Year's gifts to 1060 children. A donation campaign lasting one month gathered over 2000 gifts, and the funds collected were used to purchase gifts promoting the education and development of children. The team ensured that the gifts, including age-appropriate toys, books, logic games, and school supplies, were suitable for the children's psychological and physical well-being.
The Santa Claus initiative was first launched by Camping Azerbaijan and Kandabad platform to promote eco-tourism and has been continued jointly and separately by the "We are together" team since 2021. The project aims to create smiles on children's faces and let them feel the magic of the New Year. It also engages various individuals, people, institutions, and schools to create social value and instill a sense of social responsibility. Since 2021, this initiative has presented over 8000 gifts to more than 3500 children.
More than 100 volunteers, including some from other districts and our long-time faithful volunteer, have provided physical and moral support to this initiative. Well-known documentary photographers from the country, such as Aziz Karimov and Ali Rza, dedicated their valuable time to document the entire process.
Organizations supporting the project include TISA School, European Azerbaijan School, Nar, Baker Hughes, KPMG, Badamdar Hotel & Residence, Sustainera Consulting, Teach for Azerbaijan, Deloitte, Birdwatching Azerbaijan, Zili Azerbaijan, Handicraft, Ninka Cards, Kampinist, United Coffee Beans, Boho Tea and Wine Room, 166 Freight Company, Changan Azerbaijan, Uludag Hospitality, Roller Bird, Teas Press, Bright Signatures, Libra, Strauss, Bahar publishing houses, , Menarki, Sapla, Jemma’s Crafts, Zingirov Ceramics, Mumla Candles, Künc, Joyse, Zefora, İnci MMC. These organizations, along with donations from hundreds of individuals, have enabled the wide-scale execution of the initiative. Well-known influencers who share social responsibility values have also supported on social networks to reach a wider audience.
Additionally, support provided by municipalities and local representatives in the regions has been crucial. With their help, gifts were successfully delivered to all children in the villages. The "We are together" team expresses deep gratitude to all supporters and promises to continue their efforts to bring joy to more children in the coming years.
