Another group of former IDPs leaves for Khojaly's Ballija village

Another group of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) has departed for the Ballija village of Azerbaijan's Khojaly, Report informs.

On December 27, 21 families, totaling 119 people, were resettled to Ballija. These former IDPs, returning to their ancestral homeland on the eve of World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year holiday, will celebrate both occasions in their native lands for the first time in 32 years.

The village of Ballija has had all its infrastructure rebuilt, now featuring electricity, drinking water, natural gas, and high-speed internet.

Ballija was occupied by the Armenian army in 1992 and was liberated during a local anti-terrorist operation conducted on September 19-20, 2023.

Previously, on December 13, 27 families, totaling 152 people, were also relocated to Ballija.
