Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan embarks on cooperation in archeology

The Institute of Archeology and Anthropology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and the Margulan Institute of Archaeology of the Committee of Science of the Kazak Ministry of Science and Higher Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding on joint research and educational cooperation in the field of archeology.

The document was inked by Farhad Guliyev, Director of the Museum of Archaeology of ANAS, and Akhan Onggaruly, Director General of the Margulan Institute of Archaeology.

The memorandum stipulates the establishment of joint archaeological expeditions of the research institutes of the two countries, the conduct of artefact and biofact analysis, and the organization of exchange of experience for the training of young specialists.

The parties also agreed on the joint publication of a scientific magazine covering the archaeological problems and researches of the South Caucasus, Central and Central Asia.
