A delegation led by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Defense – Director General Agil Gurbanov paid a working visit to the People's Republic of China to participate in 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, the Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC.

First, the Azerbaijani delegation visited the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People's Republic of China to lay flowers at the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and commemorate his memory with deep respect and reverence.

Then the Azerbaijani delegation participated in the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum.

Gurbanov met with Minister of National Defense of the People's Republic of China, Admiral Dong Jun in the forum attended by Ministers and other officials from over than 100 countries, as well as official delegations from regional and international organizations. The Director General expressed his gratitude for the invitation.

As part of the working visit to China, the Director General also met with the head of the Central Military Council's Department of Cooperation on Weapons, Military Equipment and Technology and heads of companies included in the State Defense Industrial Complex. The meetings discussed the current situation and prospects of military-technical cooperation between the two countries.
