“Preparations for COP29 are ongoing, with all teams working diligently on both negotiation and technical aspects necessary for the event. Today, a very comprehensive platform - the transparency platform - has been established, initiated by the Azerbaijani team,” Mukhtar Babayev, COP29 President-Designate and Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, told journalists.
“I am confident that we will create favorable conditions today to discuss key issues. Countries will have a valuable opportunity to address some of the challenges in implementing transparency initiatives. As the host country of the milestone event, Azerbaijan is assisting other countries in preparing their transparency documents. We launched the first training sessions in May, and the next sessions will be held in Africa and other countries. The main goal is to support countries in submitting their transparency documents by December,” the COP29 President-Designate added.
