The liberated territories of Azerbaijan boast higher water potential, Firudin Taghiyev, the head of the Land Use Control Department at the Ministry of Agriculture, said at the event titled "The Role of Climate Resilient Agricultural Water Management Systems: COP29 Roundtable Discussions," Report informs.
Tagiyev highlighted the abundance of water resources in these liberated areas.
"The presence of ten water reservoirs and 17 rivers in these territories makes our freshwater resources even more accessible," Taghiyev stated. He emphasized that the liberated territories have been declared a green energy zone, and Azerbaijan has committed to making these areas a zero-emission zone.
Taghiyev further explained, "Therefore, managing the hydropower resources and water resources in these territories is one of our main goals. Our liberated territories are being reconstructed, and we are striving to consistently apply these processes there."
