The participants of the Fifth Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth under the moto “Youth for Green World” visited Azerbaijan’s liberated Asgaran, Khojaly, and Shusha districts on Monday.
The visitors first familiarized themselves with the Asgaran Fortress as they were informed about the history and significance of the fortress.
The participants then headed to the Khojaly district, where they were briefed about the Armenian atrocities committed 32 years ago against the peaceful civilians living there, destruction of the historical and architectural monument. They also viewed the ongoing restoration and reconstruction works of the liberated territories following the 30-year occupation.
In the city of Shusha, the visitors viewed a host of historical sites located there, including the city’s Central Square, the bullet-riddled monuments, and the Ganja Gates, an integral part of the Shusha Fortress. They were informed about the history of Shusha and the Shusha Fortress, the Armenian vandalism committed to the fortress, as well as the large-scale restoration works aimed to restore the historical appearance of the city.
