Landmine explosion in Gizilhajili village of Gazakh district injures ANAMA employees and border guard

A mine incident occurred in the village of Gizilhajili of the Gazakh district, the General Prosecutor's Office, the State Border Service and the National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) said in a joint statement.

The statement reported that the landmines planted by Armenia were exploded in the Gizilhajili village, which was returned to Azerbaijan in accordance with the agreement reached on April 19 regarding the delimitation of the state borders between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“The landmine blast resulted in leg injuries to a warrant officer of the State Border Service Ahadli Khayal Adinagulu oglu and ANAMA employee Mehdizada Afig Mushfig oglu, who were carrying out duties in the area.

Meanwhile, ANAMA employees Alakbarov Elchin Ilham oglu and Mirzayev Yavar Garay oglu received shrapnel wounds.

The injured persons were provided with initial aid at the scene, and promptly evacuated to the hospital, and nothing threatens their life.

An investigation is underway at the Shamkir Military Prosecution Office and Gazakh district prosecutor's office,” it added.
