The Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) has produced more than 190,000 pieces of news in 2023. As a result of the work done to improve the quality of news production and ensure prompt release of news at AZERTAC, the agency has positioned itself among the first ranks in the information space of Azerbaijan,” said AZERTAC Chairman of the Board Vugar Aliyev as he addressed the meeting dedicated to the results of the agency’s activities for 2023.
Chairman of the Board Vugar Aliyev highlighted the work done throughout the year. He informed about the staff reforms carried out at AZERTAC throughout the year, noting that the news agency has updated its logo and website, as well as took important steps to improve the quality of its activity.
The Chairman of Board also spoke about the internship program that was launched at the agency allowing students to get firsthand experience in different editorial offices of the agency, and hiring the talented young people.
“Throughout the year, the agency has made significant efforts to enhance the international relations of the agency, and maintained exchange of news with foreign partners. AZERTAC, which is currently a member of 11 international and regional organizations and information platforms, has published 10,200 news stories on international platforms, as well as on the websites of the partner agencies and media organizations. One of the milestone events of the passing year was the first General Assembly of the Alliance of Turkic News Agencies (ATNA) held in Istanbul, during which Anadolu Agency was elected president and AZERTAC general secretary of the alliance,” Vugar Aliyev emphasized.
Touching upon the projects and events initiated by AZERTAC throughout the year, Vugar Aliyev particularly underlined the two-part documentary film presented by the agency dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the conference held with the participation of media representatives, as well as the "Heydar Aliyev-100" photo exhibitions held in about 15 countries.
Other speakers at the meeting highlighted the tasks ahead, including the action plans regarding the excellent organization of the coverage of the snap presidential election scheduled to be held in the country on February 7 this year, the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) Conference and other important events.
Then, the event participants watched the "Heydar Aliyev is Azerbaijan!" documentary made by AZERTAC.
