Committee chairman: World Azerbaijanis are effectively representing the country on various international platforms

As part of a visit to Mexico, an Azerbaijani delegation led by Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, together with Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Mexico Seymur Fataliyev and embassy staff, visited the “Khojaly Genocide” monument located in Tlaxcoaque–Khojaly Square in Mexico City. They honored the memory of the victims and laid a wreath at the monument.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with Azerbaijanis residing in Mexico. The event began with the performance of the national anthems of both countries, followed by a minute of silence in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland.

The meeting continued with the screening of a film featuring speeches by President Ilham Aliyev.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Seymur Fataliyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s rapid development, its diaspora policy, and its impact on the Azerbaijani community in Mexico, praising their role in strengthening cultural and social ties between the two countries.

Committee Chairman Fuad Muradov emphasized that Azerbaijanis abroad remain a priority for the state and that systematic work with the diaspora continues, noting that they successfully integrate into their host societies and effectively represent Azerbaijan on various international platforms.

The importance of the memorandum signed between Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Institute for Mexicans Abroad was highlighted, with its role in expanding cooperation and launching new initiatives emphasized.

In her speech, CUESEG University lecturer Gunel Naghiyeva said Azerbaijan’s achievements make Azerbaijanis abroad feel proud.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of views and discussions on future cooperation.
