Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, met with participants of the third meeting of the parliamentary friendship groups of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Citing President Ilham Aliyev’s remark that “Our family is the Turkic world,” Gafarova emphasized that ongoing efforts to deepen relations between the countries and their peoples clearly reflect this vision.

The meeting highlighted the effectiveness of parliamentary cooperation in bilateral and trilateral formats, underlining the importance of the Azerbaijan–Türkiye–Northern Cyprus framework in advancing cooperation and solidarity. Gafarova noted that the Baku discussions will further strengthen ties among the three countries.

Speaker of the TRNC Assembly Ziya Öztürkler expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s solidarity, friendship, and support, describing the establishment of a friendship group with Northern Cyprus in Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis as a significant step.

Head of the Türkiye–Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group Şamil Ayrım underscored the importance of maintaining parliamentary relations between the friendly countries and shared his views on further expanding trilateral cooperation.
