Malaysia’s Bernama News Agency has posted an article by the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) highlighting Azerbaijan’s sending humanitarian aid to Iran on President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions.
“The humanitarian assistance was organized by Azerbaijan's relevant state institutions and sent to support the Iranian population affected by the recent developments and humanitarian situation in the country.
The aid reflects Azerbaijan's solidarity and support for the Iranian people during this difficult period.
The humanitarian cargo includes nearly 30 tons of food products.
According to AZERTAC, the shipment includes 10 tons of flour, 6 tons of rice, 2.4 tons of sugar, more than 4 tons of drinking water, nearly 600 kilograms of tea, as well as close to 2 tons of medicines and medical supplies.
The trucks carrying the humanitarian aid have already been dispatched and will reach their destination shortly.
The humanitarian assistance was organized following the telephone conversation held on March 8 between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, in order to support the current needs of the neighboring and friendly Iranian people,” the article said.
