Azerbaijan, Bahrain express deep concern over growing regional tensions

On March 2, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a telephone conversation with his Bahraini counterpart Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani.

During the conversation, the discussions focused on the latest military escalation in the Middle East, the growing regional tensions, and the possible outcomes.

The minister expressed serious concern over the rapidly changing situation in the region, noting that the further escalation could have adverse consequences for regional stability and security.

They stressed the importance of taking urgent de-escalation measures, keeping diplomatic channels open, as well as advancing the dialogue and negotiations process.

The officials underscored the significance of adhering to the norms and principles of international law, as well as safeguarding civilians and infrastructure.

They also addressed other regional and international matters of shared interest.
