Azerbaijani and Turkish FMs discuss regional developments

On March 2, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.

The discussion focused on the current military-political situation in the region, as well as rising tensions and security threats in the Middle East.

The ministers stressed that any further spread of regional escalation is unacceptable and underscored the importance of resolving issues through diplomatic means in line with international law and universally recognized norms and principles.

They emphasized the need to maintain regional stability and security, highlighting the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure as a top priority.

Particular attention was given to the Azerbaijan–Türkiye strategic alliance amid existing challenges, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to close cooperation.

The ministers also discussed other issues of mutual concern.
