Azerbaijan and Iraq foreign ministers urge all parties to exercise restraint to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East
Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ceyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation on March 1 with Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein.
The ministers exchanged views on the military escalation observed in the Middle East and the heightened tense security situation. They emphasized the necessity for all parties to demonstrate restraint, refrain from steps that could further increase tensions, and prioritize diplomatic channels to resolve existing disputes.
The ministers highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts by the international community and stressed that protecting civilians and infrastructure remains a top priority.
During the call, they also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
