Western Azerbaijan Community condemns provocative actions undermining Azerbaijan-Armenia reconciliation process

The Western Azerbaijan Community has strongly condemned the provocative actions recently taken in Armenia and several other countries against the Azerbaijan–Armenia reconciliation process.

The statement issued by the Community reads:

“These days – on the day of the meeting between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia held in a positive atmosphere in Abu Dhabi – the adoption by the French Senate of a resolution calling for the release of war criminals who committed heinous crimes against the Azerbaijani people, the meeting of a member of the Swiss parliament with individuals in Armenia presenting themselves as ‘leaders’ of a certain so-called entity, and provocative statements such as ‘the Karabakh issue has not yet been closed’ are examples of such provocative actions.

Why has the parliament of France, which proclaims ‘liberty, equality, fraternity,’ never once expressed its position regarding the tragedies, deportations, and genocide faced by us – Western Azerbaijanis – and the campaign to erase all traces of the Azerbaijani people in Armenia, including their ancient and rich historical and cultural heritage?

The Western Azerbaijan Community believes that, first and foremost, the Armenian state must abolish all ‘institutions’ of the so-called regime on its territory, which have already become a relic of the past. In addition, it must issue statements condemning the actions of actors outside the region that hinder peace.”
