Elnur Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, met with a staff delegation from the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives.
The meeting discussed the current regional situation, the importance of the agreements reached as part of the Washington Peace Summit on August 8, the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, measures undertaken regarding the peace agreement, progress on the Charter on Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States, as well as other issues of mutual interest on the bilateral agenda.
The sides exchanged views on initiatives concerning Azerbaijan put forward in Congress, highlighting the importance of repealing Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act.
