The activities of the working group on Azerbaijan's interparliamentary relations with the United Kingdom have been resumed, announced Fariz Ismayilzade, Member of the Milli Majlis and head of the Azerbaijan-UK Interparliamentary Relations Working Group.
A meeting of the working group took place in London today, marking a renewed phase in parliamentary engagement.
“Following a long pause, the operations of the working group have been restored. This achievement is a result of the targeted diplomatic efforts and advocacy by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United Kingdom and the Milli Majlis,” Ismayilzade emphasized.
During the meeting with British Members of Parliament, the sides discussed prospects for bilateral parliamentary cooperation, as well as regional and global security challenges. Fariz Ismayilzade added that the visit also included high-level engagements with leading British think-tanks:
“We held extensive exchanges of views with experts at prestigious research institutes, including the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and the International Institute for Strategic Studies. Our discussions focused on regional security, geopolitical processes in the South Caucasus, and the future development of Azerbaijan-UK relations.”
