Azerbaijan, UAE discuss interparliamentary cooperation
As part of her working visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, met with Tariq Humaid Al Tayer, Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council of the UAE.
During the meeting, the sides underscored the successful development of relations, which have elevated the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries across all areas under the guidance of their leaders. The parliaments’ efforts and contributions to this partnership were also highlighted.
Sahiba Gafarova emphasized the importance of reciprocal visits and the further development of ties in line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the parliaments. The parties praised the excellent cooperation within international organizations, including the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA).
The Azerbaijani Speaker expressed gratitude to the UAE parliamentary delegation for its support during Azerbaijan’s two-year Chairmanship of the APA, noting that the Assembly serves as an effective platform for expanding interparliamentary ties.
The meeting concluded with confidence that cooperation between the parliaments will continue to develop successfully based on mutual trust and partnership.
