“I believe that organizations applying double standards toward Azerbaijan should first and foremost pay attention to the injustices taking place in their own countries. This would contribute to the formation of a more just and objective position. The activities of the Baku Initiative Group are already yielding tangible and concrete results. As you know, we have received international support for our struggle against colonial and neocolonial policies and have made a significant contribution to the decolonization process,” said Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), in a statement to journalists.

Highlighting BIG’s tangible progress in protecting the rights of indigenous peoples, particularly in New Caledonia and other overseas territories, Abbas Abbasov emphasized that the organization plans to host new international events and publish additional materials dedicated to indigenous peoples.

“Our organization has already become a non-governmental entity with influence in international politics. The Baku Initiative Group will continue its work to uphold human rights,” he underscored.
