At the invitation of Farhad Guliyev, Director of the ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology, Şaban Doğan, Chairman of the Turkish Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage, and Burcu Bilir, specialist at the same Ministry, archaeologist, visited ancient historical monuments and tangible cultural examples of the Azerbaijani people.
Professor Şaban Doğan and Burcu Bilir visited the Museum and Exhibition Hall of the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology located in Icherisheher, as well as the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan. They got acquainted with rare material and cultural samples from various historical periods discovered and exhibited in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
As part of the visit program, the Turkish scientists also toured the Gobustan National Historical-Artistic Reserve.
Vugar Isayev, Director of the Gobustan National Historical-Artistic Reserve, introduced the guests to the monuments preserved there. During an exchange of views, Professor Şaban Doğan noted that the monuments and samples of material culture discovered in Azerbaijan are among the rare gems of world importance that reflect the history of humanity.
