An event titled “Establishment of the Strategic Partnership 2025 Role of National Leaders” highlighting the establishment of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Vietnam was held at the Hanoi University.
The event gathered Vietnamese state and governmental officials, member of the Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Association, students and academic staff of the Hanoi University, Vietnamese graduates previously studied in Azerbaijan, as well as Turkish and Kazakh ambassadors to Vietnam.
Addressing the event, Shovgi Mehdizada, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam, noted that National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s visit to Vietnam in 1983, and visit of the great Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh to Azerbaijan in 1959 laid the foundation of the friendly relations between the two countries. He added that the historic meetings between To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, during the Vietnamese leader’s state visit to Azerbaijan this May, had elevated these relations to the level of strategic partnership.
Kanat Tumysh, Kazakh Ambassador to Vietnam, also addressed the event.
The event also saw the screening of a video highlighting the Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s visit to Vietnam in 1983, Vietnam’s leader Ho Chi Minh’s visit to Baku and Alma-Ata in 1959, President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Vietnam in 2014, as well as the visit of To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam to Azerbaijan.
The participants also viewed the documentary titled “Vietnam visit” highlighting National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s visit to Vietnam in 1983, in Vietnamese language.
