On December 2, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation with Sering Modou Njie, Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad.
During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Gambia.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated his counterpart on his appointment as Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and wished him success in his new duties.
The sides also discussed cooperation between Azerbaijan and Gambia within international organizations, particularly the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as Gambia’s current chairmanship of the OIC and the priorities of Azerbaijan’s upcoming chairmanship.
Regional issues of mutual interest were also addressed during the call.
