On November 24, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Iran’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahid Jalalzadeh in Baku.

The sides discussed the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between the two countries, as well as regional issues. They emphasized the importance of contacts between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Iran, including the ongoing political dialogue and interparliamentary ties, in developing friendly relations, noting that discussions on issues of shared interest contribute to the expansion of cooperation.

The parties highlighted that two visits by President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian to Azerbaijan this year have provided additional impetus to bilateral relations.

The meeting also focused on prospects for cooperation in politics, economy, trade, energy security, transport, and communications. Both sides stressed that several projects jointly implemented by Azerbaijan and Iran play a significant role in developing transport corridors passing through the region.

The two officials also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
