Cairo hosts 6th session of Egyptian-Azerbaijani Joint Committee

The 6th session of the Egyptian-Azerbaijani Joint Committee for Intergovernmental economic, scientific, and technical cooperation has commenced in Egypt, co-chaired by Rania A. Al-Mashat, Egyptian Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation and Rashad Nabiyev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport.

The Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister Rashad Nabiyev includes Deputy Ministers of Economy, Youth and Sports and Culture, as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AZPROMO, State Tourism Agency, Alat Free Trade Zone, Food Safety Agency, Ministries of Science and Education, Energy and Agriculture, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), TABIB and SOCAR Trading.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt Elkhan Polukhov is also participating in the event.

The event began with the Egypt-Azerbaijan business forum, where the participants highlighted wide opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

Then, the business forum followed by an expanded meeting of the Joint Commission with the participation of the co-chairs.

The event will conclude with the signing ceremony of the protocol of the sixth meeting.

During the visit, Azerbaijan's Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev will also hold bilateral meetings.

The Joint Commission was established in accordance with the "Agreement on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt" signed in Cairo on April 7, 1994. The fifth meeting of the Joint Commission was held in Baku on February 25, 2022.
