Fuad Najafli, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, announced that, in line with the project for the exploration and assessment of ore mineral deposits, all planned work in the Aghdara-Nasirvaz ore occurrence area has been completed, and field geological exploration has now begun in the Khal-Khal area of the Babek district.

Speaking at the International Geology and Mining Forum in the city of Nakhchivan, Najafli noted that monitoring of exogenous geological processes continues across the region, accompanied by comprehensive surveying and topographic-geodetic work.

He emphasized that geological assessments in line with international standards are being conducted at the Paraghachay and Gapijig molybdenum deposits, as well as at the Gumushlu polymetallic deposit. The involvement of international experts aims to ensure an objective evaluation of the ore deposits’ potential, build an accurate geological database, and make these sites more attractive to investors.

Najafli also highlighted that, for the first time, on July 7, 2023, a total of 65 hectares across 11 non-metallic mineral sites were auctioned, generating nearly 1 million manats in state revenue.
