Following the escalation between Israel and Iran, the process of Azerbaijani citizens and foreigners leaving the territory of Iran continues, based on appeals received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Consulate General in Tabriz, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Aykhan Hajizada.
According to him, measures are being taken to obtain the necessary permits for Azerbaijani citizens, as well as citizens of other countries, who wish to leave Iran through the land border.
“As of today, more than 600 Azerbaijani citizens have applied to cross the border, and 180 of them have already entered the territory of Azerbaijan. So far, applications from citizens of 77 countries are being processed in accordance with established procedures, and the necessary conditions are being created to enable their passage,” the MFA spokesperson said.
The foreign ministers of Russia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Italy, as well as representatives from many other countries at various levels, have expressed their deep gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support.
