Belarus’ Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov held a working meeting with First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Vasily Osmakov to discuss coordination of efforts to promote the manufacturing sectors of the two countries, BelTA reported citing the Industry Ministry of Belarus.
The talks were attended by representatives of ministries and departments, enterprises and central government agencies of the two countries. The participants discussed strategic areas of cooperation, exchanged expertise and knowledge and agreed on joint measures to stimulate production, increase competitiveness and integrate industrial enterprises of Belarus and Russia.
According to the Industry Ministry, the participants in the talks emphasized the importance of concerted efforts to create conditions for sustainable growth of the Union State industrial sector, to promote innovative technologies and to upgrade production facilities.
“The parties expressed confidence that by joining efforts, they will be able to improve the efficiency of the industrial complexes of the two countries and ensure long-term economic growth. An agreement was reached to keep interacting and exchanging information in order to map out a detailed plan to implement the agreed policy,” the ministry added.
Aleksandr Yefimov and Vasily Osmakov emphasized their commitment to strategic partnership and expressed readiness to maintain dialogue and cooperation in the industrial sector.
