Representative of Chinese Company: Visa-free regime will boost business and tourism exchange between China and Azerbaijan
"We are working very closely with Azerbaijan’s Space Agency – Azercosmos. In particular, Azercosmos and the company STAR.VISION have launched a joint research project aimed at studying the impact of climate change on the Caspian Sea. Through monitoring, our company is identifying the effects of climate change on the receding coastline of the Caspian Sea in Azerbaijan. This is a relatively long-term comparison — from 1994 to 2024," said Bruce Wei, a representative of the Chinese company STAR.VISION Aerospace Group Limited, in an interview with AZERTAC on the sidelines of the STC2025 Space Technology Conference in Baku.
“We have monitored changes in the Caspian coastline over the past 30 years, demonstrating that remote sensing can significantly enhance our environmental observations. This project serves as a catalyst for strengthening sustainable cooperation between Azerbaijan and China in environmental protection through innovative technologies, as well as in the fields of space technology, artificial intelligence, and remote Earth monitoring,” the agency’s interlocutor noted.
Highlighting his role in business development at STAR.VISION, Bruce Wei said:
“Our company's slogan is ‘Space Technology for Everyone.’ We aim to build a shared constellation that can serve everyone on Earth. We are engaged in satellite development, manufacturing, and delivery, as well as offering satellite imagery and additional services.”
Pointing to the dynamic development of relations and expanding cooperation with Azercosmos, he added:
“Yesterday, we had a very productive meeting with Azercosmos representatives at the STC2025 conference. We agreed on how Azercosmos would study our satellite series and satellite imagery.”
Emphasizing the friendly and favorable relations between Azerbaijan and China, the Chinese company representative said:
"Yesterday, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, made a state visit to China. Numerous cooperation agreements were signed between our two countries. A visa-free regime is being introduced for citizens of Azerbaijan and China, which I believe will positively impact the development of business and tourism exchanges between our nations. There are also many political factors that strengthen cooperation between China and Azerbaijan. I am very pleased to witness these processes," the Chinese company representative stated.
Visiting Baku for the first time, Bruce Wei added:
"I really like it here — the hospitality of the people, the landscapes, and this space technology conference is also a wonderful event. Therefore, I believe in the prosperous future of relations between China and Azerbaijan. There are many industries where we can collaborate. In fact, STAR.VISION and Azercosmos are a great example of how these two countries are working closely together."
