The Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC) has launched the 16th International Multiculturalism School on the theme "Diversity and Equality: Building an Inclusive Future."
The participants of the School first visited the Alley of Honors to pay tribute to National Leader, architect and founder of the independent Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev, and to lay flowers at his grave.
They also paid tribute to prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
The participants then proceeded to the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and territorial integrity, put flowers at their graves.
Then the participants left for the Guba district.
The School, which will run until March 10, will be operated in the Guba, Gusar districts and Baku city.
The 16th International Multiculturalism School brought together 25 students from Azerbaijan, Russia, Bulgaria, Brazil, Serbia, Romania, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Iraq, Moldova, Türkiye, Japan, Poland, South Korea, Zimbabwe, China, Yemen, Pakistan, Morocco and Mozambique.
The participants will tour Guba Genocide Memorial Complex, the Red Settlement, the Museum of Mountain Jews, and visit the Six Domes and “Gilaki” synagogues.
The guests will also visit the Heydar Mosque, the Russian Orthodox Church, the Synagogue of Mountain Jews, and St. Mary`s Catholic Church.
The participants are also scheduled to meet with Academician Kamal Abdullayev, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the BIMC; Ravan Hasanov, the Executive Director of the BIMC, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, and Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations.
