Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Romania’s Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu on February 15, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
The meeting focused on key issues arising from the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Romania, as well as regional and international topics on the agenda.
Minister Bayramov congratulated Emil Hurezeanu on his appointment as Romania’s Foreign Minister and wished him success in his new role.
The ministers highlighted the importance of high-level mutual visits and political dialogue in advancing bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership. They discussed preparations for further strengthening ties and explored opportunities to expand cooperation in areas such as economy, energy, trade, humanitarian affairs, education, agriculture, and tourism. The significance of collaboration in green energy was emphasized, and potential cooperation in transport and logistics, particularly within the framework of the “Middle Corridor,” was also noted.
The meeting also addressed the post-conflict situation in the region and discussed the prospects for the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process.
The sides also discussed other matters of mutual interest.
