Baku hosts official reception marking Iran’s National Day

The Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan hosted an official reception to mark the country’s national holiday - the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Iran were performed.

Addressing the event, Seyyed Jafar Aghayi Marian, Chargé d'Affaires of the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Azerbaijan, highlighted the development path his country passed over the last 46 years since the revolution. He emphasized that great progress had been achieved in various domains during these years. Noting that Iran supported Azerbaijan's hosting of COP29, as well as Azerbaijan's election as a member of the D8 group, Seyyed Jafar Aghayi Marian described this support as a vivid example of the friendship between the two countries.

Shahin Mustafayev, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister, hailed dynamics of development of the bilateral relations in various spheres. He also pointed out great prospects for further expanding cooperation in economy, transport, trade, investment, energy, oil and gas, agriculture, humanitarian and other areas.

The official reception was attended by state and government officials, members of the Milli Majlis, ambassadors of foreign countries accredited to Azerbaijan, as well as representatives of the public.
